The wait is over—Flume has kicked off the rollout for his impending third studio album, titled Palaces and due May 20, by delivering “Say Nothing,” his first original work since 2020’s smash hit, “The Difference,” alongside fellow multi-threat, Toro y Moi.
Two years and and a handful of remixes later, including a celebrated Eiffel 65 remix, the launch of a “Harlecore” project with a sharp rework of “On A Mountain,” as well as a teaser for new music with Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn, the Australian beatsmith has finally begun to dispatch the first new material from the upcoming LP. “Say Nothing” features beguiling vocals from fellow Aussie singer/songwriter, MAY-A, effectively picking up creatively where Flume left off, without missing so much as half a beat.
The track premieres alongside the album’s full tracklist, as well as the accompanying music video for “Say Nothing.” Featuring a vibrant, upscale video production that characteristically bears all the creative hallmarks of a proper Flume piece, the video comes as a shock to none after fans have gotten a glimpse of the new elevated visuals that have been hitting the producer’s NFT space for the better part of 2021.
Watch below as Flume pairs artful visuals and uniquely bold sonics to commence the rollout of another masterwork now underway.
