Lady Gaga has unveiled the second single from her hotly-anticipated album Chromatica. Enlisting fellow pop star Ariana Grande for a power pairing, the freshly-released track, “Rain On Me” finds the “Mother Monster” and Grande in a captivating duet supported by dance floor-primed instincts. Like its predecessor “Stupid Love,” the single draws the compelling collective forces of music aficionados—with Tchami, BURNS, and BloodPop® taking production credit and Boys Noize as a co-writer. Collaborators BURNS and BloodPop® also teamed up under new alias Vitaclub to give the previous Gaga record a reimagining.
“Rain On Me” puts forth an emotive showcase of Gaga and Grande’s respective vocal strengths as they build off an energetic display of dance-pop release. Animated by bright instrumentation and lively synths, the pop anthem draws uplifting nostalgia with its disco and house-leaning influences while delivering powerful lyricism about surviving trauma and heartbreak.
The organic pairing also trade a series of heartfelt messages about one another in coincidence with the track’s release. “One time ….. i met a woman who knew pain the same way i did… who cried as much as i did, drank as much wine as i did, ate as much pasta as i did and who’s heart was bigger than her whole body. she immediately felt like a sister to me,” wrote Grande.
she then held my hand and invited me into the beautiful world of chromatica and together, we got to express how beautiful and healing it feels to mothafuckinnnn cry ! 🌧 i hope this makes u all feel as uplifted as it does for us both. i love u @ladygaga, u stunning superwoman !
