Above & Beyond Drops “Quicksand (Don’t Go)” Ahead of New Album
After seven years, Above & Beyond is back with new music, launching their highly anticipated album Bigger Than All Of Us.
The trio – Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki, and Tony McGuinness – just released the lead single “Quicksand (Don’t Go)”, a powerful collaboration with longtime vocalist Zoë Johnston. This emotional track marks the next chapter in the legendary group’s journey, bringing their signature storytelling and sound back to the forefront.
The Return of Above & Beyond
Since their last electronic album Common Ground (which hit #3 on the Billboard charts), Above & Beyond has explored various musical projects, from the ambient Flow State to club-focused instrumentals under their Tranquility Base moniker. Now, they return to their roots with an album that embodies connection, emotion, and global unity.
“Quicksand (Don’t Go)” – A Deeply Personal Lead Single
Premiered during their sold-out Group Therapy 600 broadcast in Mexico last October, “Quicksand (Don’t Go)” reunites the trio with Zoë Johnston, the voice behind classics like We’re All We Need and Good For Me. The track captures the heartbreak of loss and longing, with Johnston explaining:
“I think most of us can relate to that feeling of desperation and dread when it comes to losing someone we love. The despair can be massive when you’re watching grief rattle down the track toward you. Hopefully, a song like this makes anyone experiencing a seismic loss feel a little less alone.”
A New Era with *Bigger Than All Of Us*
The upcoming album promises a blend of nostalgia and innovation. It features new and old collaborators, redefining Above & Beyond’s ability to connect with fans through music. “There are songs here that have stood the test of time in our little world,” the band shared, “but they’re classic Above & Beyond – music with a worldwide meaning, a worldwide connection.”
