mölly Debuts with '22', a Masterclass in Patient Artistry

For many electronic musicians, the path to a debut studio album is a decade-long marathon of incremental growth. In contrast, mölly debuted with 22 in just two years, demonstrating that precision and timing are far more impactful than a rushed release schedule. Since her first single dropped in July 2024, she has moved from an unknown entity to a force in the scene, racking up over 25 million Spotify streams and earning support from industry heavyweights like Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, and Above & Beyond.

Her rapid ascent has seen her sharing stages with icons such as Tiësto and Kaskade, while performing at major global events like ADE and Dreamstate. Now, with the release of her debut album on Colorize, she solidifies her trajectory. The record opens with “drops of oil,” a track that establishes a cohesive sonic identity for the eleven-song collection. The album features a diverse array of collaborators, including OCULA, Mees Salomé, and Richard Walters, yet it remains anchored by mölly’s own vision—and for the first time, her own vocals.

The title 22 emerged organically, as the number appeared repeatedly throughout her writing process. While she initially set out to create a project centered on themes of human connection and love, the internal process became a critique of her own imposter syndrome. As she reflected on the experience, she noted,

“I spent so much of the album feeling like I needed to become more in order to deserve my place as an artist. The real lesson was realizing I didn't.”

Having been recognized as one of our 2026 Artists to Watch, mölly has more than justified that early confidence. To celebrate the launch, she released a live DJ set filmed at Joshua Tree, and she is currently slated for a string of tour dates across North America and Europe throughout the remainder of 2026.
