19-Year-Old Graham Riley Strikes Again with His Thought-Provoking Track ‘Lucid’

Graham Riley, at 19 years old from West Hollywood, California, has dropped his latest tune, “Lucid,” weaving a story about the tricky balance between keeping a clear mind and dealing with physical challenges. Starting his musical path at the tender age of three with guidance from Margie Balter, Riley quickly found himself in the spotlight with early appearances on shows like Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey, proving his knack for wowing audiences with his music from a young age.

Fast forward to now, and Riley’s artistic journey has flourished impressively. His newest work, influenced by a diverse set of musical heroes like Kid Cudi, The Weeknd, and more recently, King Krule, showcases his unique ability to blend various styles into something genuinely his own.

The inspiration behind “Lucid” comes from a deeply personal place, sparked by an experience trying to quit smoking during a holiday in Mexico with his ex-girlfriend, which led to a profound exploration of mental clarity in the face of physical urges. Produced alongside Max Beck and drawing inspiration from Steve Lacy’s “Gemini Rights,” the duo spent two dedicated days crafting this track. They combined catchy guitar loops and samples from Herbie Hancock’s “Watermelon Man” to create a vibe that’s both thoughtful and groovy.

“Lucid” stands out as a reflection of Riley’s personal growth and his contemplative approach to music, offering listeners a glimpse into his struggles and revelations. With its heartfelt lyrics and catchy sound, the song is all set to strike a chord with fans, sharing a piece of Riley’s journey and the universal quest for clarity amidst chaos.
