Skrillex enlists Bladee, Yung Lean on double album’s fourth single, ‘Real Spring’

A mere four weeks into the year and we already have four new singles from Skrillex, effectively marking the beginning of the comeback we’ve all been waiting for. After recently opening up about his mental health struggles throughout 2022, Skrillex has been on a white-hot release spree as of late, quickly dripping out pieces of the tracklist to what many believe is a double album due this spring. So far, each single has been a highly collaborative endeavor, with Bobby Raps, PinkPanthress, Trippie Redd, Fred again.., Flowdan, and Four Tet all already linked to the project across the first three singles. Now, Skrillex has enlisted Bladee and Yung Lean for an assist on “Real Spring” marking his fourth single in as many weeks.

The OWSLA head honcho has turned in new music over the last several years, albeit inconsistently, making the term “comeback” a little difficult to justify. However, this newly reemerging Skrillex seems different—more poised, matured perhaps. Certainly happier. And wiser. The results are immediately recognizable in his music, landing as some of Skrill’s most impressive work to date. Originally debuted during Skrillex’s pop-up show in Tokyo this past October, “Real Spring” was amongst the near 20 IDs in Skrillex’s “QFF/DGTC” teaser, with Swedish rapper Bladee and Yung Lean joining as he effortlessly wraps his production style around the two collaborators’ flow, notching another win as we inch closer to the release of Sonny Moore’s highly anticipated double-sided feature. Listen to “Real Spring” below.
