Influential New York selector DJ Spinbad dead at 46—DJ Yoda, A-Trak, EL-P, and more pay tribute

New York icon DJ Spinbad has died. Spinbad, real name Chris Sullivan, was 46. Sullivan’s death has yet to be confirmed. The longtime NYC radio host at WHTZ/Z100 was known as a major influence in DJ circles behind notable releases such as 1995’s Rocks the Casbah (The ’80s Megamix), 2001’s Underground Airplay, and FabricLive.14 in 2004.

Tributes have begun pouring in, with A-Trak, EL-P, DJ Yoda, Jack Beats, Z-Trip, Canadian stand-up comedian Russell Peters, and more, all paying respect to the late DJ Spinbad.
