Volaris steps into melodic techno with mau5trap entry, ‘Hand Of God’

2023 started on the highest of a high notes for Volaris. Having just been inducted into Dancing Astronaut‘s Artist to Watch in 2023—following a year that saw him earn one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Top Tracks of 2022—Volaris saw through the “massive announcement of a show” that he was teasing just a few weeks earlier. And that was anything but an exaggeration, with Volaris—as well as OCULA—joining the billing for deadmau5 and Kaskade‘s season-opening night at Printworks on February 3. That proved to be a subtle foreshadow for what was to come on the release side a little later in February: Volaris’ label debut on mau5trap.

Marking his sophomore musical appearance in 2023—after “I’m So Weak” with Cammie Robinson—”Hand Of God” was expectedly a highlight moment during his 90-minute showing—which is now available as a guest mix for Solardo’s Sola Radio—from the iconic London venue that’s set to shutter later this year. And it doubles as another first for Volaris, with him checking off mau5trap on his ever-expanding label record. “Hand Of God” sees Volaris seamlessly adapt his “big melodies and massive beats” mantra for melodic techno, resulting in a product that could very well find a home within a Tale Of Us tracklist in the not-so-distant future. Stream both “Hand Of God” as well as Volaris’ Printworks set below.
