Jared Leto leaks title for the next 'Tron' installment, film moves forward with new director

It’s a big moment for Tron fans, as the series’ long-awaited third installment has not only found its director in Garth Davis, but may have had its title leaked by one of its leading men: Jared Leto.

In a since deleted Tweet aiming to confirm his involvement in the upcoming film, Leto shared his excitement to be starring in “TRON: ARES.”

An amended version of the post with specifics of the film’s title removed was shared shortly after.

Jared Leto’s name has long orbited the possibility of a third Tron film, having been named by Disney to lead the reboot of the franchise as far back as 2017, but his recent message to fans is the first confirmation of his involvement in the upcoming project.

In other news, a recent report from Deadline identifies none other than Garth Davis, director of 2018’s Mary Magdalene and the Oscar-nominated film Lion. While Davis’ resume pens him as a more art house director, insiders note that the filmmaker “aggressively pursued” his position in the film’s trilogy installment.

As history has shown however, with Tron news comes rumors about another soundtrack from none other than Daft Punk. Recent reports have claimed that Disney is “hopeful” that the duo will return to their retro-fitted neon thrones.
