Premiere: Florian Picasso launches label ‘La Californie Musique’ with new single ‘Ay Papi’

After spending months in the South of France, the Vietnamese-French DJ Florian Picasso has found the inspiration to launch his very own record label, La Californie Musique. Staying in his own Villa Californie, his stay ultimately led to the creation of fresh new singles and a new label imprint. With an artistic background far preceding his musical endeavors, Florian Picasso is the great-grandson of Pablo Picasso. Taking on music as his own unique form of progressive art, Picasso’s new single “Ay Papi” is ready to initiate La Californie Musique.

Only his third single since the beginning of 2022, “Ay Papi” follows a different direction than Picasso’s previous productions. Working with Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, John Legend, and more, Florian Picasso is an established veteran in dance music. Using a fairly simple bassline, “Ay Papi” employs a layered down tech-house framework over Latin-style lyrcis. Later into the single, Picasso’s adds a rolling and repetitive effect for a progressive touch over the deep bassline. Stream “Ay Papi” below.
