Returning to Insomniac Records for the first time since 2022, Matroda has linked up with Dino DZ for their new single, “Saturday Love.” While Matroda’s previous two singles and Jack The House 3 EP landed on Terminal Underground, “Saturday Love” has been shared via Insomniac‘s own in-house label. With less than 10 singles to his name, Dino DZ is an up-and-coming producer from Slovenia, making a worthy case that his sound warrants the attention. With recent releases on Safari Music and Club Sweat, Dino DZ brings grooves and funk to his underground approach to house.
A common theme in 2022 and 2023 has been the use of ’80s and ’90s R&B samples. Mixing old-school and nostalgic vibes with an up-tempo house beat has turned “Saturday Love” into a modern tech-house cut. Showing clear influences from both disco and funk, “Saturday Love” employs a satisfying use of repetition in the vocal hook.
