Lastlings add ‘Out My Head’ to ‘Perfect World’ tracklist, reveal album’s fall run in North America

It wouldn’t be any stretch of the imagination to claim that 2023 is shaping up to be Lastlings‘ most sweeping run thus far. Amy and Josh Dowdle had already begun the drive towards their First Contact successor, already delivering a trifecta of Perfect World previews ahead of June 23. But before they would tack on a fourth—following “Get What You Want,” “Holding Me Like Water,” and “Noise“—the brother-sister pairing revealed that “good news” was inbound, revealing they’d be stateside once more this fall with the announce of their sophomore album’s 14-date run across North American. And to tie together with the tour news, Lastlings have now officially shared a third of the Rose Avenue Records-backed LP, adding “Out My Head.”

A musical tale of a “relationship that teaches you a lot about yourself,” “Out My Head” carries on Lastlings’ solace-ingrained album narrative. And just as Perfect World‘s prior single trilogy had already done, “Out My Head” is another authentic, emotive, and sleek album extension that continues to march the siblings’ polished intertwining of indie-electronic in what seems to be the right direction.
